What to expect

The Bodega de la Ardosa is a century-old tavern at Calle de Colón 13, in Malasaña. In 1892 Rafael Fernández opened several taverns called La Ardosa, named after a town in the province of Toledo, and this one keeps original decoration: an engraved glass sign, tiles on the lower part of the wall and a ceiling fan.

The drinks list covers vermouth on tap, a wide range of Irish beers, blond beers and wines from Ribera and Rioja. It is said to have the oldest Guinness tap on record. The house speciality is the tortilla de patatas, the Spanish potato omelette, and the snacks include canapés, salmorejo, salted fish, cecina de León and duck ham.
